Hello! My name is Brooke Bowser, and I am a science and environment writer.

I fell in love with science writing as an undergraduate researcher in a plant ecology lab. Initially, the pattern of trees growing along a ravine or the interactions of fungi curling around roots deep underground may not seem like a riveting conversation starter, but by communicating the meaning and splendor of science, storytelling becomes a powerful tool for fostering connections with others. I seek to inspire others to connect with our world in a way that supports a healthier and more equitable world for all.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences and Life Sciences Communication, along with a Certificate in Sustainability and a Certificate in Education & Educational Services. From conducting plant ecology research to journalism, I have sought out a well-rounded education.
